I never know how to start a blog post. It feels like an awkward silence that I'm desperately trying to fill.
In a normal awkward situation I might engage in the usual pleasantries of polite society or venture to the other end of the spectrum and bring up something totally random to fill the silence.
Scenario 1
Me: Hello, how are you doing today?
You: Doing pretty good. And you?
Me: Pretty good also...
Scenario 2
Me: So, would you rather have a 3rd eye or have webbed hands and feet? (total reference to
this)
You: What?!
(definitely followed by another awkward silence)
Damn awkward silences. They make a perfectly normal person come off as unoriginal or completely insane. Oh well.
Shall we jump in then? Yes? Good, then let's get started.
I am a bad blogger. In fact, I can't even call myself a blogger because I don't blog. I have a blog. That's it. I would like to change that. I would like to be a blogger or at least have a semi-regular presence here. So, in order to do that I've decided to give myself weekly homework. It involves food, Pinterest and recipe testing. My weekly homework assignments are inspired by
this post over at
Adored Austin and
this Joy the Baker podcast from
Homefries.
You see, I love food and I love Pinterest. Well, maybe I don't love Pinterest but I do like it a lot. I use it frequently to pin lovely things I come across on the internets. It's awesome that way. My most pinned items are food. For those of you who personally know me it should come as no surprise. I have four boards dedicated solely to food or the acquisition of food. I have 295 food pins. While that may not be a lot compared to some folks on Pinterest, it's quite a bit to me.
I pin like a crazy person if the picture even looks remotely appetizing. The mere mention of the word chocolate in the title sends me into a pinning/drooling frenzy. But while they may look appetizing, are they in fact tasty? That my friends is what I'm out to discover!
The plan is to take one recipe from the 295 (and counting) pins and test it out. I'll report here on Mondays with my review and some pictures. Hopefully, this gets me coming round these parts a bit more often and hopefully you too!
I'll start next week with
this recipe. I actually made it tonight, but I'm too lazy to post a review.
Baby steps people. Baby steps.
